Pumpkin Pie Milkshake

Whew, okay so I know I haven’t blogged in a while, but I had to share this delicious, yet simple recipe.

I’m always looking for fun ways to celebrate the fall weather so I did a little pumpkin pie research and discovered a milkshake that will blow your mind.

A perfect little pick-me-up after the long work week, this milkshake will be the star of your “netflix and chill” party. Yeah, I’d so much rather watch five seasons of Gilmore girls with a pumpkin pie milkshake at hand. (side note: I found a pumpkin donut at the grocery store, and was like why not add it to the top of the milkshake, FYI)IMG_1856

Here’s how to make it:

1 cup ice

1/2 c 100% pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)

1 c vanilla ice cream

1/2 c milk (more if you like thinner milkshake)

1/2 heavy whipping cream

caramel syrup

crushed graham crackers

In a blender, mix ice, milk, ice cream and pumpkin puree. Blend until desired thickness. While you wait, line rim of milkshake glass (mason jar, etc.) with caramel syrup and dip in a bowl of crushed graham crackers. Pour more caramel sauce in the glass around the sides. Then add the blended portion to the glass.

For the whip cream, whisk 1/2 c heavy whipping cream in mixer for 2 minutes. DO NOT OVERMIX. When you see the mixture get light and fluffy, stop the mixer. Add the whip cream to the top of the milkshake, pour more caramel sauce on top and top with the remaining graham crackers. Add a straw for an artsy instagram or don’t– Drink up!
